Description
Research Integrity means conducting research in such a way that the methods and results meet the highest scientific and ethical standards. Integrity in research covers a wide range of topics, from issues of open and transparent communication to questions of authorship or the publication process. At the University of Basel the Code of Conduct defines the values and guiding principles for researchers’ in their daily work and interactions. The application and implementation of such principles are of paramount importance to ensure trust and confidence in knowledge gained by researchers and the scientific community. 

This online course offered by the University of Basel provides a basic introduction to the most important topics in research integrity and can contribute to the establishment of a culture of good scientific practice and research integrity at the University of Basel. It is important to emphasise that such a culture is rooted in the daily research routines of every researcher, research group, department, faculty or discipline. We therefore recommend that the course is framed by additional activities in the research communities. 

1. Go to https://courses.epigeum.com/
2. Click on the icon “User Login” in the top right-hand corner and select “register” (see image below).
3. Fill in the compulsory fields. (Note: Please make sure you register with your unibas e-mail address – other address provide no access)
4. Enter the code 3bd53ca1 in the token field.
5. Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an activation link via e-mail.
6. Click onto the activation link, after this you will be able to log in with your credentials. If the email doesn’t appear in the normal inbox, please check the Spam or Junk folders.
7. After logging in, you can select the Research Integrity Course
8. Complete both parts (core and supplementary) and download your certificate after completing the course.
